Lesson: Be different for God... The God who loves you..
OK we gotta be different in how we act, how we think, how we move..
The world says that success is being rich. What do we say? Luk 12:33 Sell all your belongings and give the money to the poor. Provide for yourselves purses that don't wear out, and save your riches in heaven, where they will never decrease, because no thief can get to them, and no moth can destroy them.
The world says we gotta have a fast car or we are losers. What do we say? Luk 12:20 But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night you will have to give up your life; then who will get all these things you have kept for yourself ? ' " And Jesus concluded, "This is how it is with those who pile up riches for themselves but are not rich in God's sight."
The world says you must swear to be cool. What do we say? No insults or obscene talk must ever come from your lips.
The world says we must get even, get revenge. What do we say? Rom 12:19 Never take revenge, my friends, but instead let God's anger do it. For the scripture says, "I will take revenge, I will pay back, says the Lord."
The world says that we must have a cool cellphone. What do we say? C'mon, be different!!!
Luk 12:22 Then Jesus said to the disciples, "And so I tell you not to worry about the food you need to stay alive or about the clothes you need for your body.
Gal 5:26 We must not be proud or irritate one another or be jealous of one another.
The world says that we must drink to show we're tough. What do we say?
Pro 23:31 Don't let wine tempt you, even though it is rich red, and it sparkles in the cup, and it goes down smoothly. The next morning you will feel as if you had been bitten by a poisonous snake.
The world says that church is stupid. What do we say?
1Co 1:25 For what seems to be God's foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and what seems to be God's weakness is stronger than human strength.
1Co 1:20 So then, where does that leave the wise? or the scholars? or the skillful debaters of this world? God has shown that this world's wisdom is foolishness!
The world says that Christians are troublemakers and woeses. What do WE SAY!!!!
1Jn 3:13 So do not be surprised, my friends, if the people of the world hate you.
Joh 15:18 "If the world hates you, just remember that it has hated me first. If you belonged to the world, then the world would love you as its own. But I chose you from this world, and you do not belong to it; that is why the world hates you.
The world says that preachers are just in it to make money. What do we say? 1Co 3:5 After all, who is Apollos? And who is Paul? We are simply God's servants, by whom you were led to believe. Each one of us does the work which the Lord gave him to do: I planted the seed, Apollos watered the plant, but it was God who made the plant grow. The one who plants and the one who waters really do not matter. It is God who matters, because he makes the plant grow.
The world says that you gotta look after yourself b4 anyone else. What do we say?
Rom 13:10 If you love others, you will never do them wrong; to love, then, is to obey the whole Law.
1Jn 3:10 Here is the clear difference between God's children and the Devil's children: those who do not do what is right or do not love others are not God's children.
The world says Trust No One. What do we say? Jer 17:7 "But I will bless the person who puts his trust in me.
The world says that there's no life after death. What do we say? Joh 5:24 "I am telling you the truth: those who hear my words and believe in him who sent me have eternal life. They will not be judged, but have already passed from death to life.
The world says If it feels good, do it! What do we say? Self control, think of others. Pro 5:22 The sins of the wicked are a trap. They get caught in the net of their own sin. They die because they have no self-control. Their utter stupidity will send them to their graves.
The world says Do unto others then split! What do we say? 1Jn 4:20 If we say we love God, but hate others, we are liars. For we cannot love God, whom we have not seen, if we do not love others, whom we have seen.
The world says Get real – religion is for dreamers. What do we say? Col 2:17 All such things are only a shadow of things in the future; the reality is Christ.
The world says There's no such thing as God. What do we say?
Psa 14:1 Fools say to themselves, "There is no God!" They are all corrupt, and they have done terrible things; there is no one who does what is right.
The world says Don't make waves – just go with the flow. What do we say? 2Pe 3:11 Since all these things will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people should you be? Your lives should be holy and dedicated to God,
The world says we don't need God. What do we say? 1Jn 1:9 But if we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right: he will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing.
Jesus says Believe in me and you will be saved. What does the world say? No! We'll do it on our own!!
PEOPLE AROUND YOU; FRIENDS, RELATIVES, WORKMATES, ETC WILL TRY TO SQUEEZE YOU INTO THEIR WAY OF THINKING – BUT BE DIFFERENT. BE NOTICED. BE PURE. LET THEM SEE GOD IN YOU.
The BOTTOM LINE
Don't follow the crowd
Follow God. Be Different.

Lesson: Taking God with you wherever you go..
Should Church and Worship be separate from work and school?
Pro 14:31b kindness shown to the poor is an act of worship.
How do we worship at school ? By out attitudes, behaviour and speech
How do we “take God to work?”
We remember Him all day, we talk to Him, we do things His way, we obey Him, we talk to others about Him.
Eph 6:18 Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for all God's people.
Why is it important to take God with us to school?
To remind us to obey Him, to give us wisdom to choose to do the right thing. To be a witness/example
Luk 21:36 Be on watch and pray always that you will have the strength to go safely through all those things that will happen and to stand before the Son of Man."
What difference does it make?
It stops evil from happening, therefore it makes the school a better place to be.
Isa 65:1 The LORD said, "I was ready to answer my people's prayers, but they did not pray. I was ready for them to find me, but they did not even try. The nation did not pray to me, even though I was always ready to answer, 'Here I am; I will help you.'
Is it easy to forget about God when we are at school or at work?
Deu 8:11 "Make certain that you do not forget the LORD your God; do not fail to obey any of his laws that I am giving you today.
Why is this?
We get busy and distracted from the important things in life, like putting God first..
How can we remember that God is with us when we are at school?
Get a WWJD or FROG ruler, keep a little new testament in your bag, put a Bible verse on your book cover
How does God remind us that He is there? By pain !!
What kind of problems do you expect when you take God to school?
Kids must tell me..
What kind of opposition do we sometimes get when we do things God's way?
People might start arguing with us. They may pass comments, or sny us. Some “friends” may avoid you.
What good things can come of taking God to work?
A friend might get saved, which is the most awesome thing that can happen. Evil will be stopped or slowed down. Our lives will be more blessed – God will be closer to us.
If your partner is God, make your plans large !!
What can happen among your friends and colleagues if you do God's will at work?
They may start getting interested in going to Church or Teen Church. They may stop doing bad things. They may give up bad habits.
Jas 5:20 remember this: whoever turns a sinner back from the wrong way will save that sinner's soul from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins.
What's important in a job – happiness or money ??
How did the Israelites take God with them when they were going to the promised land? The Ark of the covnt
Can God go with you to a party? To a wedding? To a matric farewell? To a family reunion?
Job 31:4 God knows everything I do; he sees every step I take.
Can God go with you in your dreams when you're asleep?
Interesting one this – I believe He can. But we have to have the right attitudes when we're awake.
Can God go with you on holiday?
Take God with you on holiday – wherever you go, whatever you do, whoever you're with, whenever you're awake or asleep. Don't forget God longer than you forget to breathe.
